Inge King
Island Sculpture
1991

Commissioned for the island in the McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery lake, Inge King’s Island sculpture, 1991, was designed to create a focal point and animate the space with movement. The importance of the viewer’s perspective is central to King’s practice, as she works to create a dynamic experience of each object and its environment. Composed of two pieces, acting in dialogue, Island sculpture thrusts upwards, drawing the attention of the viewer from diverse angles and areas of the park.
