On Bunurong Country: art and design in Frankston

Edited by Jane Eckett with Lisa Byrne

On Bunurong Country: art and design in Frankston, is a major publication that brings to light the role that art, design, and architecture have played in shaping Frankston’s socio-cultural identity.

This publication uncovers the history of art, architecture, and design in Frankston, Victoria, and the surrounding areas of Baxter, Carrum, Langwarrin, and Mt Eliza. It also embeds the fifty-year history of McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park as an integral part of the region’s history.

Edited by Jane Eckett with Lisa Byrne, and co-authored by contributing academics and writers including David Tutchener, The Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation, Jane Eckett, Andrew Gaynor, Simon Reeves, Jeffrey Turnbull, Benjamin Thomas, Sheridan Palmer, Bronwyn Hughes, Philip Goad, Linda Short and Simon Lawrie.

Thanks to the generous support of the Public Records Office's Local History Grants Program, you can listen to a selection of podcasts featuring the contributing authors.
