First Nations Commitment

McClelland acknowledges the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which we are placed. We extend our respects to their ancestors and elders past and present, and to all First Nations Peoples.

We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart. We support the 'call for the establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution' and we accept the invitation to walk with our First Nation's peoples 'in a movement of the Australian people for a better future'. (The Uluru Statement).

We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first Australians. We acknowledge the impact of non-Indigenous colonisation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture - the oldest continuing living culture in the world - and recognise the challenges faced by Indigenous Australians today.

  • We commit to raising awareness of and celebrating First Nations Peoples' culture and wisdom through our public programming.
  • We commit to working with community to create our McClelland Reconciliation Action Plan and we commit to actioning agreed activities.
  • We commit to providing a culturally supportive workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
