Woven neckpiece workshop with Lisa Waup

Saturday 9 September 2023

Lisa Waup is a mixed-cultural First Nations multidisciplinary artist and curator born in Narrm. Waup's practice spans diverse media, including weaving, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion and digital art. Through strong connections to symbology and materiality, her work connects her to family, Country, history and story, exploring personal experiences and a broader historical narrative.

Lisa Waup will guide participants in a two-hour weaving workshop to create their own unique woven neckpiece. Using an array of hand dyed raffia colours participants will be shown contemporary weaving techniques, and shown how to make string to complete the neckpiece.
