The Rick Amor drawing award, showcasing the medium of drawing and held at McClelland for the first time in 2021, is an acquisitive award enabled through the generous support of artist Rick Amor. Born in Frankston, Amor has drawn and painted the area many times over the course of his artistic career. The acquisitive award will be granted to an outstanding original drawing which will become part of McClelland’s permanent collection.

The 2021 finalists were: Zoe Amor, Stephen Armstrong, Jacqueline Balassa, Lorraine Biggs, W. H. Chong, David Fenoglio, Jane Grealy, Pei Pei He, Domenica Hoare, Terry Matassoni, Anh Nguyen, Catherine O’Donnell, Lyn Raymer, Robert Scholten, Benedict Sibley, Joe Whyte, Joel Wolter. One prize of $20,000 was awarded to David Fenoglio for his work Material landscape 2021, judged by artist John Wolseley.
