Mary & Lou Senini student art award for ceramics 2021

The $3,000 Mary & Lou Senini student art award is presented annually to a Victorian tertiary art student who, in the opinion of the selection panel, is of outstanding ability and promise. Established in 1998, the award alternates between the disciplines of sculpture, painting/printmaking, ceramics and textiles, and in 2021 McClelland presented the award for ceramics. The 2021 finalists were: Pattie Beerens, Claire Bridge, Mark Friedlander, Marion Harper, Debbie Hill, Saskia Muecke, Narelle White. Judged by McClelland’s Director, Lisa Byrne and Curator, Simon Lawrie, the 2021 Award was granted to Saskia Muecke for her work Untitled #2: Studies in nature series 2021.

McClelland acknowledges the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we are placed.


We are a safe, welcoming space for all people.

As a not-for-profit organisation, McClelland relies largely on the support of visitors through entry fees and donations to help conserve and build the collection, curate inspiring exhibitions and public programs, and care for the beautiful sculpture park and bushland setting for all to enjoy.
