Anna Farago, an artist and dedicated educator, was born in England and currently resides in Melbourne. She holds a Master of Visual Art from Monash University, Gippsland, and completed an MA Research degree at Federation University, Ballarat.
Farago explores feminist art practices like embroidery, quilting, natural dyeing, and stitched text. She collaborates with other artists and communities, embracing a fluid and performative approach to textiles. Her artworks are deeply connected to personal stories, places, and memories. She also explores the lives and academic pursuits of female artists in the Bauhaus movement, focusing on those in the weaving workshop. Her fabric works blend art and functionality, while also honouring feminist traditions and intergenerational knowledge transfer.
