Unlock the Power of Colour with Christopher Pyett

Saturday 15 August, 10am – 1pm

Join celebrated Australian artist Christopher Pyett for a hands-on colour theory talk and workshop on Saturday 15 August, 10am–1pm.

The morning begins with an engaging introduction to colour theory, followed by a demonstration and practical exercises where you'll explore colour through your own creative experiments, resulting in your own piece of work to take home.

With an exhibition history spanning more than six decades, Christopher has taught at Monash University and Melbourne Teachers College and has been a consultant to the Australian Tapestry Workshop. Influenced by French masters including Georges Braque, Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cézanne and Édouard Vuillard, he brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to this workshop.

Now 82 and painting daily in his Pearcedale studio, Christopher remains one of Australia's most accomplished abstract painters. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from an artist whose practice is driven by enquiry, experimentation and a deep understanding of colour.

Perfect for artists, makers and anyone curious about the language of colour
