Lisa Byrne, Artistic Director of McClelland, expressed her excitement about the collaboration:
“McClelland has always been a place where art, nature, and community intersect. Partnering with the MSO allows us to expand that vision through the universal language of music. We are thrilled to welcome the Orchestra into our landscape and to offer our visitors a truly immersive cultural experience.”
The partnership is part of a broader effort by the MSO to bring orchestral music beyond the concert hall and into the communities of Greater Melbourne. Langwarrin and Mornington Peninsula are the first stops in this ambitious outreach program, proudly supported by the Hansen Little Foundation.
MSO CEO Richard Wigley shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration:
“We are delighted to partner with McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery, a place that embodies creativity and community. This partnership allows us to connect with new audiences in meaningful ways, and McClelland’s stunning natural setting provides the perfect backdrop for musical discovery and joy.”
In addition to Jams for Juniors, MSO musicians will engage with local schools and community groups, further enriching the cultural fabric of the region.
This partnership underscores McClelland’s commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible, and innovative arts programming. Together with the MSO, McClelland invites families, students, and music lovers of all ages to experience the magic of live orchestral music in a setting like no other.
“We’re excited to bring the MSO’s energy and expertise to McClelland,” said Curator of Music at McClelland, Monica Curro,
“This collaboration is a perfect example of how we’re reimagining what an orchestra can be—accessible, community focused, and creatively adventurous."
