Your Help to Sustain Programs + Operations
McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery announces changes to its admission fees, effective 1 July 2025, as part of our ongoing commitment to sustaining our programs and operations.
This review arrives at a time when McClelland is under considerable financial stress. These changes are essential to ensure McClelland’s financial stability and continued existence as a charity, dedicated to promoting public understanding, education, and the experience of sculpture.
Why These Changes Are Necessary?
McClelland needs to raise $1.6 million annually to operate.
Since its establishment in the 1970s with the vision of Annie May McClelland, McClelland has expanded significantly through the inspirational contribution of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE. This critical financial support ended with her passing in 2012.
Although many think McClelland is government owned, we are in fact an arts charity. We rely on entry fees, Harry’s Cafe, our Design Store as well as government grants, philanthropy, and sponsorships to remain open.
We recognise the significant cost of living pressures faced across the community, however these new entry fees are an essential source of funding to help ensure our continued success.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
Please also help us to champion the need for ongoing financial support via your Federal and State MPs as well as local Frankston City Council members. Please email gallery@mcclelland.org.au should you have any questions.
