Secondary

Our facilitated program offers a broad range of experiences to explore the sculpture collection, the bush land, the temporary exhibitions and related hands-on workshops.

All programs are adapted to the Australian Curriculum, relevant to the contemporary world, and specifically designed to develop visual arts appreciation, critical thinking and creative practice through a variety of cultural and creative experiences.

Facilitated by gallery staff experiences include:

  • Guided Sculpture Walks
  • Guided Exhibition Tours
  • Art Workshops
  • First Nations connections to Arts & Culture
  • Arts Industry Context

Whether you are looking to run a self-guided tour, or have a program tailored for you and facilitated by a Gallery Educator, McClelland can help you organise an inspiring experience within a safe and welcoming setting.

VCE Unit 3 & 4; Visual Arts and Studio Arts

At McClelland we understand how onsite learning through real-life experiences and contexts supports student outcomes. Through facilitated experiences rich in opportunities for reflective observations and independent thinking, students can examine the practice of artists work, materials, influences and meaning of art works. Behind-the-scenes insights offer learning around the complexity and unique creative operation of an open-air art space, contemporary gallery and native bushland setting.

McClelland acknowledges the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we are placed.

We are a safe, welcoming space for all people.

As a not-for-profit organisation, McClelland relies largely on the support of visitors through entry fees and donations to help conserve the collection, curate exhibitions and educational programs, and care for the beautiful sculpture park and bushland setting for all to enjoy.
