MSO presents Jams for Juniors at McClelland

Kids let’s join in!
The earlier children listen to music, the more it will enhance their lives. Presenter Karen Kyriakou is joined by musicians of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for this popular workshop specially designed for children up to five years of age and their carers.

Pull up a cushion and explore the music of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

Please note, all attendees big and small require a ticket.

Age: Children aged 0-5 years.

Adults must stay for duration of experience.

Sessions:

  • 9:45am arrival for session to run 10:00am –10:30am
  • 11:15am arrival for session to run 11:30am –12:00pm
  • 12:45pm arrival for session to run 1:00am –1:30pm

Cost: $5 for every attendee (children and adults need tickets)

Karen Kyriakou is a passionate music educator, author, and composer/arranger whose work spans kindergarten to tertiary education.

Holding a Bachelor and Master of Music Education, she brings over 25 years of innovative experience to the field. Renowned for her inclusive approach, Karen is a sought-after presenter and workshop facilitator for leading Australian arts organisations, and she delivers professional learning to educators of all levels.

A long-time Artist in Residence in schools for children with additional needs, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2012 to study Music and the Deaf. She has since developed tools to make music accessible for students with disabilities and remains a strong advocate for lifelong learning, regularly presenting at conferences to promote creative and inclusive music education.

McClelland acknowledges the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we are placed.


We are a safe, welcoming space for all people.

As a not-for-profit organisation, McClelland relies largely on the support of visitors through entry fees and donations to help conserve the collection, curate exhibitions and educational programs, and care for the beautiful sculpture park and bushland setting for all to enjoy.
